Life Changing Event of an Overweight Patient
Read his real life story down here:
"To The Medical Staff at AAAMC
It is with deepest gratitude that I write this letter to you. I want to thank you for changing, and quite possibly saving my life. You certainly added 10 years to my life expectancy. This is a very personal and moving experience for me, and I am only sharing it with you in the hope that it will provide incentive, motivation, encouragement and hope to others who have struggled to overcome the same obstacle to health and prosperity that I had found insurmountable.
Late in March 2011, a friend on Facebook tagged me in a photo. When I logged on I eagerly clicked the link to see the picture. When it appeared on my computer monitor, I was not excited anymore, but instead put my head in my palms and openly wept. Staring at me from the screen was a fat man. It was me! (It even prominently displayed my name when you moved your mouse over my face in the photograph.) The reality of it was stark; I was indeed a fat man with a mind to be thin.
I had been fighting obesity for a number of years, only to succeed in increasing my waistline, and wearing my shirts un-tucked in a futile effort to conceal my girth. I felt ashamed of myself, and sorrow for my wife, an athletic beauty, marathon runner, and athletic achiever, for having to be seen with me in public. My health was poor at best. My cholesterol was through the roof, my blood pressure was high and I was pre-diabetic. I knew I had to change, but I did not know how.
Being so overweight, every option one would normally undertake to lose pounds does not work. I could not run or walk any distance, my body could not handle all the excessive stress, and I felt like I had failed another attempt to lose weight. I could not diet, as the hunger became unbearable and I ended up eating more. I tried all the diets….
In desperation I reached out to my primary care provider at AAAMC. She also was quite concerned, and asked if she could talk to me about a diet plan that her office had extensively researched, and that I should schedule an appointment to learn more about it. The HCG diet.
Diet and exercise, diet and exercise, etc. Everyone had the same old worn out solution. I felt hopelessly alone and frustrated. Your medical team had the discernment to understand that diet did indeed come first, then diet AND exercise could take place.
During my visit, your ARNP took a lot of time to educate me about HCG, answer a lot of questions that I had, and made me feel comfortable that this program could work for me. I decided to start immediately, on April 1st, 2011. I weighed 254.2 pounds. The program was very simple: Eat only what it said you could eat in the portions allowed, and take your HCG! I made up my mind that I could do this program, and would do this program.
I am writing this letter weighing 185.6 pounds. 70 pounds gone !
I had dropped below 182 lbs at one point, and am very, very thrilled to be maintaining my current weight for over two months now. My metabolism has been reset, I look and feel fabulous, I have lost 8 inches off of my waistline, and guess what else? You already know of course, my blood work is now healthy and normal! Cholesterol normal, Blood Pressure normal, blood sugar perfect! Truly amazing!
I take no credit for the weight loss. It was a team effort, and I just did my duty as part of that team. I am proud to be a part of this accomplishment in regards to this team. But there are areas where your staff provided help and encouragement to me that I want to list for others to be encouraged by. If I can lose 42 pounds in 21 days, and 70 pounds in 100 days and keep it off, anyone CAN do it!
AAAMC helped me deal with multiple facets of my weight loss program. I am unaware of any other healthcare providers so dedicated and involved with their patients’ entire well being. Let me list a few examples
I have a dramatic increase in strength, endurance and stamina. Energy courses through me.
I have increased dexterity and co-ordination
I am now able to exercise and enjoy it, pushing myself to limits unimaginable just a few short months prior.
I have a renewed sense of self-confidence.
I have clarity of focus, and a positive can-do attitude.
I have a renewed sense of self determination.
I have a newfound sense of compassion for other peoples struggles.
I have understanding that everyone struggling with weight loss needs encouragement and support
I have empathy for those who have tried and not succeeded.
I am openly emotional about my new lease on life.
Everyone’s spiritual nature is personal and complex. I am only speaking for myself, but the change this program has made in me has helped me re-connect with my creator, in that I am doing my part, or duty, in being all that I was created to be. How great a gift is this?
The team at AAAMC met my medical needs in all the areas that I have mentioned above, and as time goes by, I am certain that I will come to recognize more ways that you have helped me that I had not even been aware of.
From my heart,
Thank you, and may God bless you,
